So like it would look like you pushed the player vertically into the table?
If so you could do it but you would have to 1)use a jigsaw Drill a couple of holes in from the edge and saw fron there or 2)drill heaps of small holes side by side in the shape of your player an chisel and file the hole to size, Then make up a piece for the player to sit in.
All of which will cut heavily into your drinking time.
