i am new to this forum and to english-speaking forums in general so i apologize for my english in advance.
i read the faq and tried the search on this forum but didnt find a solution so far.
i bought an iriver t10 today (firmware V. 1.23P, EU-edition) and i knew about the mtp/ums problem before, but i refuse to install winXp and winmp10. my computer is still running on win98SE.
i know about the mtp->ums-updater on iriver, just downloaded and installed it and hoped that this would by-pass my problem.
but it didnt, cause my computer wanted an usb-driver to recognize my t10. i dont have any and there are no possibilities to download it from iriver so i canīt proceed the transformation.
my questions:
1. must i pack my player, my winmp10-cd and visit somebody with winXP to transform my mtp- to an ums-player?
2. shall i update the firmware afterwards? V1.23 sounds old...
