PMP-120 appears to be dead

My son's PMP-120 just "quit working". It starts to boot up (screen comes on with iRiver logo), but that's it. The red light for the HDD stays on, and it never gets to the "loading OS" text at the bottom.

It's only ~7 months or so old (bought from Costco last year, November time-frame), so it's still under warranty. I need to find the receipt, but I think I still have the email receipt.

Before I send it off to iRiver under warranty, anyone know if there's an easy fix? If not, who do I contact at iRiver? Will they be able to fix/replace the PMP-120, or will they try to replace it with a PMC-120? (I don't really want the PMC-120, since I prefer the PMP series for the Linux and possibility of hacking it.)
