Simple mods for the warranty conscious

Here are some simple mods I did, that don't really affect the warranty.

1. Paint iriver indent. On the player, where it is indented, and says iriver, use silver paint to fill it in. THIS LOOKS FABULOUS. it is really nice looking, and quite professional. Here's what I did:
a.go buy some silver testor's paint, and paint thinner (made by testors, of course). b.grab some tissues, quetips, and toothpicks (a spray bottle of some stuff called de-solve-it will also be helpful (maybe even necessary), oh, and don't forget the sharpies, and a small screwdriver, or rod, possibly a sewing needle.
c. use the rod/toothpick/screwdriver to dip in the paint, and fill the indentation.
d. use tissues/toothpicks/quetips to take away paint that goes out of the indentation while it's wet.
e. if you screw up, DONT WORRY. this is why you have the de-solv-it and paint thinner. This stuff will take off dried paint, without damaging your player.
NOTE: if you dip a toothpick in the de-solv-it, you can use it to take away thin lines of dried paint around the edges.
f. also, in case you have to send the player back, just use those solvents to take off the paint.
g. finally use the sharpie permanent marker (or something similar, to go over silver parts you couldn't get with anything else)
h. you may also want to gloss the player (use testors if you did to paint it, and don't gloss if you used a sharpie)
i. do the same on the back of the remote

2.you may have noticed that the stock case has a painted snap in the back. After a while, the paint rubs off, and it looks really sharp if you scratch off all of it, and polish it to a smooth finish and gloss it. This looks soo much better.

3. my third, and final mod is simple. Take the case, put some wood inside it, and use letter stamps to put a custom embossing. My best suggestion would be to put a thin sheet of metal between the belp loop and the case, and stamp you embossing there. (if you do it anywhere else, the foam inside will absorb it)

There you go folks, my simple mods for the complete idiot (me) man the silver lettering looks sharp !!
