I don't know about the irivers, but with the Rio Carbon you can even use a Type I CF flash card and essentially have a 4gb flash player instead of one that has a drive, though I know your goal is to go larger.

As for me, I was a loyal Rio person with a karma, carbon and forge. The Karma is gone and the 20gb H10 will serve as it's replacement until somebody comes out with a player sporting Sigmatel's STMP3600 chipset. That'll be the gold standard for all that care about quality in their DAP. Till then, iRiver it is.

also, with the 1.8" drive in the H10; has anyone done a drive swap and gone larger? Anyone know the largest drive that will fit in the h10 without modding?
As I have a broken HDD in my H10 5GB, I looked into different options.
I disassembled the unit and went for a search for the Seagate ST1 5GB drive WITH the flex cable, but without any luck. I was told by a distro that it's a Seagate OEM special version, which is not available anywhere else as iriver or as used on ebay. It could be that the electronics are the same as on a CF drive, but I am not sure.
