Can you see it in device Manager?
Another way would be to just wait, it appears that iRiver has *FINALLY* decided to support switching from UMS to MTP and vice versa at will so you may want to do this.
It will effectively turn your player to UMS (like the unofficial firmware did) but this time it will be official and thus, no warranty void.
As for the line-in recording, this is the first time I heard of it, where did you see it?
