I want support for 16-bit BMPs and possibaly jpeg as well so we could eventually have album art. By then, it would be possible to do more elaborate skins with 16-bit BMPs.

But before we get to that stage, I'd like to have a patch which defines a new "Line Selector". (General Settings/ Display /LCD Settings/ Line Selector). Currently, there are Bar(Inverse) which is the default, and Pointer. Now that the color changing patch is getting more popular, people may not like the inverse of their chosen colors which are used for the "Bar" selector. People who use Black for their background, and blue for instance for their foreground, will notice that a white bar with yellow text is very hard to read. I've had this problem from before this color changing patch, when I modified the RGB values of lcd.h manually before compliling. The "Pointer" selector is an OK soloution, but it's tiny, and if you're not concentrating, it'll be difficult to locate.

Basically, I'd like to see:
  1. a Bar (Reverse) selector, where the selected item will have the background color for text, and the foreground color for the bar.
  2. The eventual option of allowing us to choose different colors for the selected text, and its highlight. So the color for the line selector wouldn't have to be only either the inverse or reverse of the current background and foreground colors. But I'll be happy with the (Reverse) for now, as the white highlight with the black background is a let down!

What MU4L means, when you want to browse through a very long list (in file browser, fonts, or anywhere within Rockbox), just keep on pressing "Play" and click up or down to scroll by page. Makes life easier

I beleive, there are more than just one patch for LCD remotes. I personally use the following:
[ 1367824 ] patch for H300 lcd remote buttons
It supports both the H100 and H300 LCD remotes, you select which remote you have from the remote settings (no non-LCD remote support yet). For the H300 LCD remote, the "+10" and "-10" buttons let you scrol by page, which I think is great.
