Apparently not. Here is what I plan on doing tomorrow though:
I am going to call iRiver and tell them that I was upgrading the firmware and the PMP locked up. When I rebooted it, it would get stuck at the loading screen and do nothing from there, even when left for a half hour. I am going to ask for an RMA.
Now technically, all of this is true. I was upgrading the firmware and the PMP did lock up, in that order, so I am not really giving them false information. Knowing iRiver, chances are they will swap it out no problems for me. I would advise doing the same in the hopes that iRiver doesn't catch on too quickly.
