Since a adaptor is different to a charger and is different to a power supply yeah I think it does matter. A adaptor is used for different plugs across the world, but you might also need a step up or step down transformer if the power supply/charger isn't a auto switching unit. In a "dumb" device where the power supply also contains the charger circuit, ie in radio control transmitters. Then you have likes of irivers where the charging circuit is inside the unit so power supply is needed.
