It's worth noting here that another H300 has had the 'Charging Circuit' 'Burnt out' due to a multi-voltage adapter with polarity switching, set to a voltage of 9v

The irony eh...?
I've now fried my H340 while away on holiday, used my faithful multi voltage/polarity adapter.
Had just woken up... pluged the adapter into the car power outlet and....
nothing.. nowt, zip, squat.. dead!
That was with the voltage set to 1.5v / 2A
I'm sure the polarity was correct... bah! probably not.
Don't use these multi adapters people.. it really is too easy to make a mistake

We need to know the
mains power supply of different countries.
UK: 230/240 volts, AC 50Hz (Hz = hertz/frequency)
This guide is to try and ensure that nobody else 'burns out' the charging circuit of their iRiver H300 series.
It is also useful for people travelling abroad.
We believe that the
original charger that was included with your H300,
is the only charger that should be used to charge the H300.
However.. There will be occasions where people will want/need to use a different charger.
Disclaimer: I have only started this thread as a guide. The points made above, should ensure that you don't inadvertently make the mistake of 'burning out' the charging circuit of your iRiver H300 series by using a different charger. I take no responsibility if you do use a different charger... You do this at your own risk!
Not every person that owns a H300 will see this!
Take care when using Alternative Chargers.
Always Check The Chargers Specification
(it is very easy to 'burn out' the charging circuit).
'Haku' Has kindely started an identical thread and edited the specs for those with H100's.
Alternative Chargers for the H100's
Many Thanks for that Haku.
