The Apple iPod specification states that it achieves up to 25 minutes of skip protection through storing music in a temporary memory cache. IRiver's website for the H1xx does not mention skip protection, however, reading of the "Continuous HD Spin" petition for the H1xx DAP's (
http://pdxonline.host.sk/p/petition.php) suggests iRiver's devices also cache music during play.
I intend to purchase either Apple's iPod or iRiver's H140 within the next two weeks. Understanding the H140's ability to protect against skips, and the H140's performance while jogging is the remaining piece of information I need to make my decision. Any experiences or comparisons that can be offered from iPod and/or H140 owners would be appreciated.
- Does the iRiver H140 have skip protection?
- Is it comparable with the skip protection of the iPod?
- Will the H140 perform well without skipping if used while jogging?
- Are there any suggestions as to how to use the H140 effectively while jogging (e.g. wearing on the belt or wearing it on the arm)?
Thanks,
