You're talking about the
Radio Data System. My suggestion was to allow a user to input the text him/herself that would be displayed (shouldn't be too hard to implement), but your comment about using RDS is quite interesting.
As far as implementing RDS, one of the developers would have to let us know if there are limitations of the FM hardware, or if the RDS is documented so that code can be written, or better yet, if anyone is willing to code it.
