I have just posted some images of my docking stations in the gallery. Some of this message has also been posted in the "international iriver forum" but I also thought that you could use some inspiration to make your own docking station. The numberous advantages of having such a docking station is:
- You can see the display of your player from greater distance because it is up-standing
- It is easier to operate because you don't have to pick it up
- It won't get as easily scratched since it isn't placed on the table
- It looks great! ... at least if you design it probably
Wood Docking Station: (my primary dock)
Nokia Docking Station: (my secondary dock)
I know they are nothing fancy, but there is actually no need to make it more complicated than this. They serve the simple task of holding my H140, so I don't have to pick it up everytime I need to operate it and of course they can be connected to the DC/AC adapter for charging/powering in the meanwhile. In the wood version, the USB cable can easily be connected - this is not possible using the Nokia version. My favorite is the wood dock, the Nokia version is just a quick dock station I made because I was using made H140 two places. Since iRiver don't sell Docking Stations for the H1xx-series, we'll just have to use our imagination.
So just do it... it is well worth the elbow grease
