"Pops" between tracks - need help.

I am new to the forum, and to MP3 players in general. Just bought the ifp-899, after much rersearch and looking - very happy with the sound and build quality. As far as I can tell, it is a sweet little player ...

I do have one little problem though - on certain CDs that I have ripped, I hear a "pop" between tracks, at least some tracks. Here is the deal:

I ripped them myself, using Windows Media Player 10, bit rate is 192 kbps.

The only 2 CDs I hear it on (thus far) are:

The Beatles - "Abbey Road"
Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here"

and it is not on all racks, as I said ... it seems to be between tracks that sort of "run together" (eg: "Welcome to the Machine, part1-6", "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window", etc. ...).

It is VERY distracting, as these tracks normally flow one right into the next.

I do NOT hear the "pops" when playing the CDs, or when playing the MP3 files with Win Media Player.

I have another 2 weeks to return the player to Best Buy if need be, so if anyone can help me find a fix, I would appreciate it. I am not averse to trying my hand at some minor audio file editing, if need be.

In case it applies, I am running firmware version 1.24.

Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way,

Paul
