Dude, you MUST be an Opie and Anthony fan... In any case, I disagree with you to an extent. I live on the East side (20's) and so I know what you're saying. I've said what you did before. There's no doubt that this behavior exists, but it's pretty much synonymous with the lifestyle here in the city. Don't be a hippocrite man. Both men and women here want what they want with no strings attached, and we often get what we ask for.
Men here usually flaunt their cash, and zingy cars in order to get the casual woman to hop into his bed. What do you expect from that ? On the other hand, it depends on where you meet the person. I've had some genuinely honest and incredible relationships with some really beautiful and nice women here, who were honestly looking for companionship and not a pocket full of cash. '
I think it's your fault that you may be attracting that sort of woman man, because you're not ready for anything more serious than the casual fling. You can't generalize like you did. One of my best friends, who is a couple years younger than I am, who happens to be a now struggling artist (because he moved to Atlanta for some stupid reason), married a really sweet girl who is way younger than he is (10 years?) and they've been together for about 4 years now, and it's like they just got together. They have a child, and still look at each other as if it was their first date.
You shouldn't be so cynical man, it's a waste of time. As I said, I've shared your sentiment, and if you look around NYC, it's very true that the gold diggers are in full effect on every corner. But one day, you're going to wake up with a totally different outlook, and that gold digger might just turn into your soul mate. Remember, people in general react to what they see around them. Treat someone like dirt, and they'll get you messy in the process. Look at someone with sincere trust and care, and that dirt just may reveal a seed that grows into a beautiful flower. It's all in how you look at it man...
