Post Sync Times.

So far so good and here are the sync times I get using the following encoders. the sync is regarded after 1hr of playback without FF RW or pausing. so you may get different results with adjustments

DVDx - I could not get 2.3 but 2.2 works ok sync is of the region of 2seconds out, a usable programme but a bit heavy like Vdub for timid users.

Vdub - Not bad overall, takes ages to set up, sync is about 2seconds out.

PDE - Great programme simple to use if you have the player settings sheet infront of you, sync is 0.5 to 1.5 seconds out (it appears to be movie related)

iRiverter - Easy as hell to use, sync consistantly 1second or less out.

Other settings
Using the latest DivX codec is crap as it gets very bad upwards of 8 seconds on some files, thats very bad no matter what you are watching.
System load, it appears that the more work the PC does the worse the file is, this may be just errors but a PC just encoding seems to work best.
Loading direct to the player, I tried and sync gets worse on the programmes listed.

The programmes above are the best free ones I tried, the others had either too much to set up and no way to save the setup or where so bad/failed etc that they dont even deserve a mention.

Still playing around with settings, as per last night I think I found out how to sync properly (or damb near close) I will update on this once I confirm it using my method of testing.

My recommendation of iRiverter being the best may not be best on all machines so try a few different programmes.

On a final note I would be interested if I get a chance to trial the encodes on several different spec machines such as a celeron 600(my sisters) and see if that makes a difference.
